The Curriculum

A full academic program as required by the State of California is offered. The curriculum reflects a commitment to educate the whole person. Accordingly, the elementary school emphasizes respect for parents, teachers, and elders, while the secondary school guides students to fulfill their personal and civic responsibilities, to cherish their families, their nation, and all living beings.

Instilling Goodness Elementary School (Kindergarten to Grade 8) offers:

Good study habits are emphasized, and students are guided to delight in learning.

Developing Virtue Secondary School (Grades 9-12) offers a college preparatory curriculum. The minimum units required for graduation in each subject area are as follows:

• English (40 units)

• Social Studies *1 (30nits)

• Mathematics (30 units)

• Science (30nits)

• Foreign Language *2 (30 units)

• Religious Studies *3 (20 units)

• Meditation (24 units)

• Physical Education (20 units)

• Visual or Performing Arts (10 units)

• Electives (12 units)

*1. 10 units of World History & Geography, 10 units of U.S. History, 5 units of U.S. Government, 5 units of Economics.
*2. The foreign language offered at our school is Chinese.
